Politician who rose to fame as the 20th Prime Minister of Armenia upon his election in May 2018. He helped lead the 2018 Armenian revolution as the head of the Armenian National Congress oppositional party.
He rose to fame in his native Armenia as the editor of the country's foremost liberal newspaper Haykakan Zhamanak. He became editor in 1999.
He became leader of the Way Out Alliance in May 2017 before eventually leading the 2018 Armenian Revolution. He spent one year in hiding between 2008-2009 for acts meant to spark revolution in Armenia.
He and his wife Anna share four children.
He helped lead to the resignation of former Armenian Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan through his country's 2018 revolution.
